In case you still wonder if global warming is really happening: I just got back from visiting my family in Europe. As a young Dutch boy, not a winter would go by without me ice skating. I spoke with my nieces and all but one (the oldest) had never ice skated. It simply doesn't get cold enough long enough anymore.
They just had 44 days without rain in April over there. This would be about as unusual as 44 days without sun in Charleston, since the Dutch climate resembles Seattle.
And they started producing Dutch wine. This should come as a surprise given that they are on the same geographical height as Newfoundland. The last decade has been so warm that producing wine is now viable. |

My neighbor is from the Netherlands, and she just left for a two week trip there. I'll ask her when she gets back if she noticed anything, or if her family was talking about it. I hear a lot of the country is below sea level, so there's certainly a lot to lose.
Is the Dutch government progressive about green issues?
